My Thought for Today

The truth has a tendency to rub some people the wrong way, but I want to keep it real and point out my observation about all of the Black Unity posts I see. There are plenty of posts about Unity, Solidarity, Sovereignty, Independence, Collaboration, Economic Empowerment, Black justice, Creating & Building Black Wealth etc.. However, I don't see that much of this is actually happening and I don't see the very people posting these things reaching out to join forces with Black businesses or Black digital platforms to collaborate and build an ecosystem which could host, grow and sustain the Black movement being talked about. What I do see is Black people still right here on white owned social media platforms posting about what we need, complaining and trying to get likes, comments and monetize or promote their content. This is not not a movement - it is entertainment or at best hot air conversations and wishful thinking toward the Liberation and Unity being spoken about. I see a lot of black people trying to start, form or build their own business, movement or bolster their social media profile based on the subject matters mentioned above. Many issues posted and he call to actions are clear, but the needed activity and participation is lacking. I don't see any post or hear celebrations about different Black business or platforms, groups or communities uniting, collaborating or building towards the future together. This is the missing and most important thing we need to succeed. I am not suggesting that Black people abandon or not use white social media platforms, just pointing out that those places are not where we need to be to achieve our goal. Blaqsbi.com is a 100% black owned digital space already built where our progress could and should be happening. We have started building the ecosystem and here waiting with open arms for all our brothers and sisters to show up, take advantage and help furnish our new digital home.
